Celtics (+124) to defeat the Spurs
The Celtics are 9-2 over their last 11 games, including 2-0 since Jayson Tatum’s season debut following his torn Achilles suffered in the playoffs. Boston is coming off back-to-back double-digit wins, including a 109-98 victory over a strong Cleveland team on Sunday. Each of those nine wins has come by double digits entering a matchup against the Spurs, who are a top team as well with the second-best record in the NBA at 47-17 this year. The Spurs are home, but only the Thunder have more road wins than the Celtics (22), and Boston is 43-21 overall this season. The Celtics have won six of their last seven games against the Spurs. The Lakers have won each of their first two meetings this season, but the Timberwolves are coming off a postseason in which they defeated the Lakers in five games after splitting their regular-season contests. The Timberwolves are 10-7 over the last five regular seasons against the Lakers, including this season, and enter Tuesday with the better regular-season record this year at 40-24 compared to the Lakers at 39-25. LeBron James missed Sunday’s game, and he’s questionable for Tuesday, so LA will either be without one of its top stars or likely have a limited one in action.
