The Utah Mammoth have announced that they’ve signed their 2025 first-round pick, Caleb Desnoyers, to an entry-level contract.
The contract is scheduled to start at the beginning of the 2026-27 season. Desnoyers is currently playing in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) playoffs with the Moncton Wildcats.
Mammoth Sign Desnoyers to ELC
Desnoyers is one of the Mammoth’s most exciting prospects. He was selected with the fourth overall pick in last year’s draft. With how dominant the Mammoth are going to be for years to come, adding a very skilled player in Desnoyers is going to be a great addition.
Here is what the team had to say about signing their 2025 first-round pick.
“We are thrilled to sign Caleb to an NHL contract,” said Bill Armstrong, general manager of the Utah Mammoth. “Caleb is an incredibly skilled player who has seen much success throughout his junior career with Moncton. He has an extremely bright future ahead and we look forward to watching him play for the Mammoth for years to come.”
As mentioned, Desnoyers spent the season with the Wildcats in the QMJHL and has had quite an impressive year. In 45 games, he has scored 22 goals and 56 assists for 78 points, along with a +36 rating. He missed a portion of the 2025-26 season after undergoing wrist surgery. However, after he returned, it looked like he never missed a step.

Now that he has signed his ELC, his focus turns back to hockey, more specifically the QMJHL playoffs and trying to win the league championship and then the Memorial Cup.
