Here is the latest news and updates about the Buffalo Sabres and their schedule for the week of April 27 to May 3, 2026.
Sabres Take Commanding 3-1 Lead On Bruins
The Buffalo Sabres continued their playoff series against the Boston Bruins and ended up being victorious in both games in Boston in Games 3 and 4. They won Game 3 3-1, and won Game 4 6-1, including a four-goal first period, three of them within the first 10 minutes of the game.
The Sabres dominated the Bruins from start to finish in Game 4 and now head back to Buffalo for a chance to close out the series on home ice in hopes of winning their first playoff series since the 2006-07 season.
Injury Updates
Both Jason Zucker and Tyson Kozak exited Game 4 during the third period with minor injuries. Head coach Lindy Ruff said there were talks about both forwards returning; however opted to keep them out due to having a six-goal lead. Ruff stated, “Just treat them and leave them in the dressing room, just for where the game was at.”
Josh Norris left Game 2 with an undisclosed injury and missed both Games 3 and 4. He is considered day-to-day per Ruff.
Sam Carrick has been out since March 31 after he fought New York Islanders captain Anders Lee. Per Ruff, he is “more than likely” to miss Round 1 vs the Bruins.
Jiri Kulich has missed most of the season due to a blood clot that was made public on Nov. 10. He has continued non-contact skating; however, he is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
Danforth exited the Oct. 15 win with a lower-body injury – later announced to be a broken kneecap – after blocking a shot. He had surgery to repair the injury and began skating on his own in early January. He is currently skating “on and off” as he continues to deal with pain related to the injury.
