Team USA Is a Formidible Opponent
The United States Men’s Hockey team has been waiting to play Canada since their loss in the 4 Nations Face-Off a year ago. USA general manager Bill Guerin has built what could be the most talented team of players in their history.

In the end, McDavid could have a big say in determining that, especially if he and his Team Canada teammates exploit Hellebuyck’s weakness for letting in high shots.
Expect McDavid to Draw a Crowd on the Ice
The Americans will no doubt have a game plan for trying to stop McDavid. You can expect to see Eichel, along with the Tkachuk brothers, in his face at every turn. The Tkachuks were successful earlier in the tournament in shutting down McDavid’s Oilers teammate Leon Draisaitl in the Germans’ 5-1 loss to the USA on Feb. 16.
However, their antics were a bit below the belt, including Matthew Tkachuk’s uncalled-for bridesmaid comments to Draisaitl at the end of the game. McDavid, who is currently playing the best hockey of his life, will have to break through the slashing, holding, and trash talk to play one of the best games he’s ever played. I wouldn’t bet against him this time.

With Canadian captain Sidney Crosby still questionable to play after getting injured against Czechia in the quarterfinals, it might be up to McDavid to take on the captain’s role once again and lead Team Canada into the fight.
