The St. Louis Blues announced on Wednesday that they have signed Russian defenseman Arseni Koromyslov to a two-year, two-way, entry-level contract that will kick in ahead of the 2026-27 season. Koromyslov, 22, was selected 120th overall in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.

He took a big step forward this season, playing 61 regular-season games for Traktor Chelyabinsk in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) and finished with one goal, 16 assists and 40 penalty minutes. He had one point through five playoff games, and his season was marked by tremendous progress that was rewarded with increased playing time.

Koromyslov settled into a full-time role with Traktor after splitting the previous season with three clubs. In 2025-26, he posted a plus-4 rating and became a reliable minutes-eating defenseman for a deep Traktor team, averaging 16:35 in the regular season, and increasing to over 20 minutes in the elimination round. Koromyslov has 158 regular-season games in the KHL in his career, with four goals and 32 points.

On the international stage, Koromyslov was a member of the 2021 U18 World Championship Team Russia. He helped his team return home from Texas with the silver medal after losing to Team Canada in the final. Despite a 5-3 loss, the blueliner ended the game with a plus-2 rating, playing alongside Buffalo Sabres prospect Nikita Novikov.

At 6-foot-5 and 181 pounds, Koromyslov will bring size and mobility to the Blues’ system. He will most likely start the 2026-27 season with ttheir American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.
